Former Tenants of the Westfield 'Watcher' House Speak

The infamous "Watcher" house of Westfield New Jersey has been in the news ever since the former owners started receiving creepy, threatening, letters in June of 2014.

The family who lived through the nightmare recently sat down for an interview with New York Magazine.

Between the summer of 2014 and February of 2017, Derek and Maria Broaddus received 4 hand-written letters to their mailbox informing them that their home and children were being watched by a mystery person who called himself "The Watcher."

The Watcher's letters informed the Broaddus family that he and three generations of his family had been watching the Westfield home for over 110 years, waiting for the second coming.

The letter's asked the family if they knew the history of the home, why they decided to move there, and if they were called by the force within the home.

Derek Broaddus described living in the home as "It's like cancer. Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night thinking what would my life be like if this didn't happen?"

Maria Broaddus said People thought we were crazy because we were always screaming at the kids to stay close to the house.

The Broaddus family still has no idea who was behind the letters and they have not heard if the new tenants have started being "Watched."
