Sex Trafficker Convicted of Luring Underage Girls into Prostitution

Brooklyn DA Eric Gonzalez and police officials convicted one of the men involved in a sex trafficking ring that lured underage girls into prostitution.

Tariq Washington admitted that he was partially responsible for running a call girl ring with girls he recruited from Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Cleveland.

Washington's sex enterprise was discovered after one of the girls he lured to NYC broke free and notified authorities that she and other girls had been drugged and forced into prostitution.

Court papers claim that girls as young as 15-years-old were grabbed after traveling to NYC via bus and placed into rented rooms to be pimped out. If the girls refused to participate in sex they were drugged and assaulted by Washington until they agreed to sell their bodies.

According to an article in the New York Daily News, Johnathon Harris, the second man allegedly involved in the illegal sex operation is awaiting his day in court.

Tariq Washington was sentenced to nine years behind bars for his involvement in the sex trafficking ring.
