Suspicious Package Reported in Tribeca

There’s a large police response in Tribeca on Thursday morning after reports of a suspicious package.

It was sent to an address on Greenwich Street owned by actor Robert de Niro.  Someone going through the mail reportedly noticed similarities to packages sent to CNN and high profile Democrats and called police.  A nearby building was evacuated as a precaution.

The NYPD bomb squad responded and removed the package from the premises.

"the most highly-trained experts in the world are investigating today's suspicious package in #TriBeCa - & the item is now en route to a secure facility in the #Bronx," Police Commissioner James O'Neill said on Twitter.

There’s no word on whether this is a live explosive or if there’s a connection to the devices that were sent on Wednesday.
