The “Trump” name is being removed from a building on the Upper East Side on Thursday.

The New York Times reports that the board of the condo at 200 Riverside Boulevard voted to remove the name because they didn’t want the political association.  Some owners admit they bought the condo believing the name would bring value.

"Yes, but a lot of things have changed since then," one resident told WOR's Alice Stockton-Rossini.

The 46-story building secured use of the Trump name back in 2000.  Other buildings across the country have also moved to remove the Trump name.  On Riverside Boulevard, some argued the name should remain in place.

"It just seems silly at this point.  It was fine for years, right?  It was always desirable among a certain kind of buyer for condominiums," another resident said.  "I don't see getting hyperventilated at this point about it."
