Child Falsely Accused of Groping Speaks Out

A rally was held in Brooklyn on Monday night in support of a 9-year-old African American boy falsely accused of grabbing a woman’s rear-end.

Teresa Klein is white and called 911 on 9-year-old Jeremiah Harvey after claiming that he groped her at a deli in Flatbush.

“I want the cops here right now,” Klein is heard saying on the video.

She later apologized after seeing store surveillance video that showed the boy’s backpack had brushed up against her.

“I don’t forgive this woman at all,” Harvey said.

The incident caused outrage in the community.  On Monday night, supporters of Harvey gathered on the street near the deli.

“People should be treated equally,” Harvey said.

Harvey’s mother was among those to speak out.  She doesn’t understand why people don’t respect each other anymore and treat people like neighbors.  She said the whole situation has been tough for her son to deal with.

“Having to explain to your 9-year-old son what assault means, what sexual assault means and having to go over the term with him what racism is and having to witness and see that he’s crying all over again,” the mother said.
