Girl Injured After Falling From 6th Floor Window in Harlem

A 9-year-old girl is lucky to be alive after falling from a 6th story window at an apartment building in Harlem.

"It's a miracle and I'm glad she's okay," one woman told WOR's Alice Stockton-Rossini.

It appears the girl was leaning on an air conditioning unit that fell.  The girl also tumbled from the window at the Saint Nicholas Houses on West 129th Street and Frederick Douglass Boulevard.  She landed on a daycare center that’s on the ground floor of the complex.

"It's amazing.  Thank God for the roof.  Unbelievable," a woman said.

The girl was taken to Harlem Hospital where she’s being treated.  She reportedly suffered a broken ankle.

"It's just amazing.  Six floors and she's still alive?  That's a blessing," a resident said.
