Armed Bandits Steal Underwear And Air Fresheners

The NYPD is on the hunt for two crooks who robbed a Family Dollar store in the Bronx. The thieves, one armed with a knife, the other with a syringe were caught on surveillance cameras fleeing through the front doors of the Family Dollar on Clinton Avenue with plastic bags full of stolen items.

An employee of the Family Dollar was able to momentarily grab hold of the man armed with a syringe only to have the knife-wielding robbery come to his rescue and assist in their escape.

Both suspects are described as 5 foot 8 Hispanic males in their early to mid-40's. One of the suspects had long dark hair pulled back into a ponytail and was last seen wearing blue jeans and a gray sweater. The second suspect was last seen wearing a black and gray sweater with black sneakers and a black backpack.

A spokesperson from the Family Dollar told the New York Daily News that the robbers got away with 23 packages of boxer shorts and two dozen bottles of air freshener.

Anyone with information on the two thieves is asked to call NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS.
