Brooklyn Diocese Settles Sex Abuse Cases for $27.5 Million

The Diocese of Brooklyn has reached a $27.5 million settlement in connection with four sex abuse cases at the Catholic Church.

The victims were between the ages of 8 and 12 and said they were abused by Angelo Serrano from 2003 to 2009.  Serrano is serving a 15-year prison sentence after pleading guilty to first-degree sexual conduct charges.

Serrano was a teacher at the church.

The victims claim other church officials never reported the abuse.
