Mets Beat Philly 6-4, Dodging The Raindrops!

  • The Mets were supposed to send Jacob deGrom to the hill, but Mother Nature had other ideas. With rain in the forecast all day and a 30-minute rain delay to start the game, deGrom was scratched and Corey Oswalt given the spot start.
  • Rhys Hopkins gave the Phillies the early 2-0 Lead with a home run off of Oswalt in the first.
  • Michael Conforto got one back in the bottom of the first with an RBI infield single, 2-1 Phillies.
  • Mets got rolling in the 5th, Jeff McNeil tied the game at 2 with and RBI single and then Michael Conforto Stroked a three-run home run just over the wall to give the Mets a 5-2 lead in the bottom of the 5th.
  • Phillies got an RBI sac fly from Wilson Ramos in the 6th to make it 5-3
  • Austin Jackson got a run back in the 7th for the Mets on an RBI Double to make it 6-3, New York.
  • Carlos Santana hit a solo HR for Philly in the 9th, but that would be all as Seth Lugo closed the door and the Mets won 6-4 against the Phillies
  • The Mets welcome in the Miami Marlins for a four-game slate starting Monday night, first pitch 7:10, Mets on Deck at 6:05
