Jacob deGrom to the hill as the Mets look to finally give him some support.
Mets scored first in the second when Austin Jackson doubled down the line, scoring a run, and giving the Mets a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the 2nd.
Bottom 4, Cincy walked the bases loaded to face deGrom, but Stephenson walked deGrom to force in a run, and Amed Rosario lifted an RBI Sac Fly to right field and the Mets had a 3-0 lead for Jake after 4.
Mets tacked on two more runs in the 5th with a Nimmo RBI double and an Austin Jackson RBI Single. The Mets had given deGrom a five-run lead in the 5th.
Degrom pitched 6 innings, gave up 4 hits and struck out 10 and he was in line for a win!
Bottom 8, Mets added on, Brandon Nimmo stroked a two RBI Double and Austin Jackson added an RBI Double and it was 8-0 New York.
That would be the final score as the Mets and Jacob deGrom had the win!
Mets are off on Thursday and will be back in action on Friday when they begin what is now their longest stretch of the season (thanks to the postponed Mets-NYY game). They take on the Marlins in Miami. First pitch Friday at 7:10PM, Mets on Deck at 6:05.
