Nimmo Walks It Off! Mets Win 3-0 In 10 Innings

  • Mets sent Jacob deGrom to the hill, but before that our “Immortal Chris Majkowski” threw out the ceremonial first pitch!
  • Maj’s pitch was high and wide but he didn’t bounce it.
  • Jacob deGrom was dominant. He pitched 8 Shutout innings for the Mets, 113 pitches and no runs and 7 Ks!
  • The problem? Mets couldn’t solve Vince Velasquez who threw six innings of two hit scoreless ball as well and the game was scoreless heading to the bottom  of the 8th.
  • Mets had two on with two out in the bottom of the 8th, but Michael Conforto grounded out into the shift, and the inning, and Jacob deGrom’s chance for a win was done.
  • We headed to the bottom of the 10th inning with the game still scoreless. Amed Rosario doubled and Jose Reyes walked.
  • Two on, Two out. Brandon Nimmo stroked a 3 run home run deep into the night and the Mets had a 3-0 walkoff win in the 10th.
  • Mets are back in action Thursday Night as the Washington Nationals come to CitiField. First pitch 7:10 PM Mets on Deck at 6:05.
