Search Continues for Missing Long Island Teen

Police on Long Island are continuing their search on Tuesday for a teenagers missing for nearly two weeks.

There are fears that 19-year-old Louis Germosen is a victim of the MS-13 gang.  The search is focused on Hempstead Lake Park.

“We received an anonymous tip through the parents that if you’re looking for Louis, you should look for him in the pond area,” Nassau County Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder said.

Ryder said searching the pond is difficult because they can’t put boats in the water.  Germosen was last seen on June 28th leaving his home in New Cassel.  The family believes he may have been headed to West Hempstead.

Germosen’s family said that the teen didn’t belong to any gang.  However, they admit that he sometimes hung out with the wrong people.

“We have no information through social media and the information that we have through our gang unit that there’s any gang affiliation at this time,” Ryder said.

Nassau County Police are conducting the search, along with members of the State Police.  A Nassau County Police helicopter was also seen flying over the park.

So far, authorities haven’t found anything suspicious at Hempstead Lake Park.
