Mets Fall 7-3 to Phillies

  • Mets sent rookie hurler Drew Gagnon (Pronounced GON-yo) to the hill for his MLB Debut.
  • Gagnon got through the first but in the second, Maikel Franco smashed a three run HR and the Phillies led 3-0 in the second.
  • Gagnon ran into trouble in the third when he loaded the bases with one out.
  • Nick Williams Singled two of them home and it was 5-0 Phillies in the top of the third.
  • Mets got one back in the bottom of the third after a Rosario triple, Gagnon popped a sac fly to center field and the Mets were on the board 5-1 in the third.
  • Drew Gagnon was done after 4 1/3rd innings, giving up 6 runs.
  • Odubel Herrera smacked a solo HR to make it 6-1 Phillies in the 5th.
  • Maikel Franco knocked in another run with an RBI single in the 6th, 7-1 Phillies.
  • Amed Rosario tripled in a run in the bottom of the 7th, his second triple of the game to cut the lead to 7-2 Philadelphia.
  • The Mets got another run with a Michael Conforto RBI Groundout as well and it was 7-3 Philly.
  • Philly’s rookie starter Enyel De Los Santos had a great night, 3 runs on 5 hits with 6 k’s in his ML debut.
  • That’s as close as it would get, as the Mets fell 7-3 to the Phillies.
