Mets Win Series Finale In Miami

  • Mets looked to salvage a game in the series finale and had Steven Matz on the hill.
  • Kevin Plewecki doubled in a run in the second to make it 1-0 Mets.
  • Matz got into a little jam in the 2nd, not completely to his fault, as an error by Todd Frazier and a walk eventually loaded the bases.
  • Matz got his man in Starlin Castro and K’d him with the bases loaded to end the third and keep the game 1-0
  • Top 3, Asdrubal Cabrera smashed a no doubt second deck home run, and the Mets had a 2-0 lead.
  • Top 4, Steven Matz helped his own cause with and RBI single, and he had a 3-0 lead to work with
  • Dan Straily got one back when he reached on an error by Steven Matz in the bottom of the 4th, Mets 3, Marlins 1
  • Matz went 5.1 innings, gave up no earned runs, 6k’s.
  • Todd Frazier Doubled in another run in a crazy play that could have been called two errors! 4-1 Mets, Top of the 8th
  • The Keystone Craziness continued when Plewecki walked and a quick throw down to third hit Todd Frazier and bounced into left field, and Frazier turned around and came home and led 5-1 heading to the bottom of the 8th!
  • Bottom of the 8th, Cameron Maybin hit a solo HR to bring the fish a little closer, but that would be all as Jeurys Familia came in to close it out 1-2-3 and salvage the final game of the series, final score 5-2.
  • Mets are off on Monday as they head North of the Border to Toronto to take on the Blue Jaye Tuesday Night with first pitch scheduled for 7:10, Mets on Deck with Pete McCarthy starts at 6:05.
