Bloody Beach Fight Sends Two Victims to the Hospital

Two people were stabbed during a fight on Coney Island last night. The incident took place on the beach near Stillwell and Surf Avenues. One of the victims, a 17-year-old boy, was stabbed in the back and in the torso. The other victim had his face slashed during the melee.

“The fight started on the beach and spilled over on the boardwalk,” said witness Stephanie Negron. “There were about 75 people in the group. There were three of four fights going on at the same time. They don’t know how to tan, have a drink and go swimming; they’ve got to fight. They don’t know how to have fun; they’ve got to fight."

Beachgoer Tony Williams said the 17-year old victim was lying on the boardwalk, bleeding and surrounded by children.

Both victims were taken to Maimonides Medical Center to be treated for their injuries.

The NYPD is said to be looking for a group of men in their 20s who can be seen on surveillance video running off after the two victims were knifed.

According to an article published in the New York Daily News, no arrests have been made and the reason for the brawl is still unknown.
