A funeral is being held in Paramus, New Jersey today for a teacher killed in last week’s school bus crash.
Jennifer Williamson-Kennedy, 51, was on a class trip with students from East Brook Middle School on May 17 when the bus collided with a dump truck and landed on its side on Route 80 in Mount Olive. Multiple reports said the bus driver may have missed the exit and was trying to make an illegal U-turn.
“My Beautiful Bride and I have been in total love every day of our lives since the day our eyes met on 5/5/94. I am in shock, devastated and totally crushed by today's tragedy to both sides of the Willamson-Kennedy families, the community she taught and the thousands of students and their families she was very proud to serve,” Williamson-Kennedy’s husband Kevin Kennedy said in a statement.
The school bus driver has been identified as 77-year-old Hudy Muldrow. He’s had his license suspended 14 times, most recently in December of 2017. He’s also received eight speeding tickets.
No charges have been filed in connection with the school bus crash.
Also killed in the crash was 10-year-old Miranda Vargas, who was laid to rest earlier this week.
The funeral for Williamson-Kennedy is being held at Our Lady of Visitation R.C. Church.
