Mets Pummel Blue Jays 12-2

  • Noah Syndergaard got the start, his first in 8 days and promptly struck out the side in the first inning.
  • The start of the game was delayed for 1:25 due to the passing severe weather.
  • Mets got on the board when Syndergaard helped his own cause with an RBI Double in the bottom of the second to take a 1-0 lead.
  • Yangervis Solarte smacked a two RBI Single in the top of the third to give the Jays the lead 2-1.
  • Mets turned the tide in the 4th. Syndergaard tied the game with an RBI Sac Fly
  • Amed Rosario doubled of the top of the wall to give the Mets a 3-2 lead
  • Juan Lagares singled in two more runs, and was called out at second, but review showed he was safe to keep the inning alive and the Mets stood with a 5-2 lead.
  • Asdrubal Cabrera singled in another run and the Mets had a 6-2 lead
  • Noah Syndergaard was finished after 5 innings giving up 2 runs on 5 hits while striking out seven.
  • Mets kept plating runs in the 5th as Rosario, Nimmo and Lagares all knocked in a runs singles and it was 9-2 Mets heading to the bottom of the 6th.
  • Seth Lugo pitched a clean 6-7-8th inning
  • Luis Guillorme continued his perfect career, 2-2, with an RBI Single and is still batting 1.000! Mets led 10-2
  • For good measure, Devin Mesoraco drilled a two run home run to left firsd for the final tally, 12-2 New York, the Blue Jays are 0-12 against the Mets in Queens all time.
  • Mets wrap up the short two game series this afternoon, weather permitting, against the Blue Jays at 1:10 pm, Mets on Deck 12:05 PM.
