Rockies 8, Mets 7 - Mets Comeback Falls Short

Zack Wheeler gave up five runs in the first and it looked like a dismal night for the Mets, but in the final two innings the Mets gave the fans a sign that maybe, just maybe, they are close to returning to their winning ways. Todd Frazier's two run home run in the 8th and a 3 run rally in the ninth was not enough as Michael Conforto struck out with the winning run just 90 feet from paydirt. Final score 8-7, Rockies win the opener of the three game series. Mets back in action Saturday night, first pitch 7:10pm, Mets on Deck at 6:05. (Thumbnail Credit: Getty Images)
