- Mets Spoil the Home Opener for the Nationals with an 8-2 win against starter Stephen Strasburg
- Michael Conforto made his return with a two-run home run (originally called a double) that gave the Mets the lead for good.
- Jacob deGrom got the start but it didn’t look good in the 6th when with just the two-run lead, he loaded the bases with no one out.
- deGrom got a fly ball out, some nice defense by Jose Reyes on a line drive and then he struck out Trea Turner for the third out to end the 6th.
- Jay Bruce made it all worth it, however with a Grand Slam in the top of the 7th and the Mets never looked back.
- Mets next in action on Saturday in DC, 1:05 Start, 12:05 Mets on Deck.
