Military Helicopter Crash Victims Brought Home

The bodies of 4 Long Island residents who were killed in a helicopter crash in Iraq were delivered to Dover Air Force Base Sunday evening.

The bodies of Master Sgt. Christopher Raguso, Captain Christopher "Tripp" Zanetis, Sgt. Dashan Briggs and Captain Andreas O'Keeffe were taken off the plane in flag-covered coffins and welcomed home by Vice President Mike Pence and Air Force Secretary Heather Wilson.

The men died  last week Thursday when their Pave Hawk helicopter hit power lines near the border of Syria and Iraq while heading to support a nighttime mission.

Captain Zanetis, a 10-year veteran of the FDNY was on his third tour of duty and fellow FDNY member Master Sgt. Christopher Raguso, was on what was to be his final tour of duty.

Laura Raguso, mother of  Sgt. Christopher Raguso said she begged her son not to go on his final mission when he called to tell her he was coming home after just one last job.
