The legendary Tavern On the Green restaurant is being sued in the Manhattan Supreme Court by a member of their work staff who claims she was not paid the legal minimum wage of $11.00 dollars per hour for at least 7 months.
Dipon Padder stated in her class action lawsuit that she and at least 40 other members of the wait staff were only paid $7.50 an hour after the restaurant management clipped a 7% fee from all special events.
Padder said when she and her crew catered events for Tavern On the Green between April and October of 2017 the restaurant allegedly took a 7% administrative fee that was supposed to be passed onto the servers as a gratuity.
Ms. Padder is seeking unspecified damages.
