The second in command at the New York City Public Housing Authority is out of a job after a series of controversies.
NYCHA General Manager Michael Kelly resigned after reports of falsified lead paint inspections at public housing. Mayor Bill de Blasio appointed Vito Mustaciuolo as acting General Manager.
“Vito Mustaciuolo has a proven track record of fighting for tenants across the five boroughs, and I know he will hit the ground running at NYCHA,” Mayor de Blasio said.
Despite the controversy, NYCHA Chair and CEO Shola Olatoye is keeping her job.
“Vito Mustaciuolo has a long and successful history of advocating for tenants,” Olatoye said.
