Former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie is reacting on Twitter, denying reports that he was turned away by security at Newark Airport.
Reports said Christie tried going through a special security gate that he used as governor. However, the reports said he was turned away and pointed back to a security checkpoint that other travelers were using.
“Absolutely false story about my travel today,” Christie tweeted.
The former governor said he was led to one entrance by a Port Authority Police officer. A TSA agent then told him that was the wrong entrance and pointed him to another one where he was screened.
“Neither option was the way I entered airport as Governor (wrong in the story) and PAPD officer never denied me entry at either place (also wrong in the story),” Christie tweeted.
He called the story “pure fiction.”
