Governor Phil Murphy says he’s going to make people proud to live in New Jersey.
“I commit to you, many years from now, when you look back, planting your flag in New Jersey will be one of the smartest decisions you have ever made,” Murphy said during his inaugural speech.
Murphy was addressing those living in the state who are being chased out by high taxes. He promised to make the wealthy “pay their fair share in taxes” so that middle class families can afford to live in the state.
Murphy is also vowing to legalize marijuana, fix NJ Transit and raise the minimum wage. He also promised to fight back against the federal government when necessary.
"We will resist every move from President Trump and the misguided congressional leadership," Murphy said.
