Unprecedented security is being planned for Times Square on New Year’s Eve.
Police officers will be out in full force to help protect the annual celebration. Surveillance teams and sand trucks will also be used to keep the event secure.

Eight people were killed on Halloween when an ISIS supporter slammed a rented pickup truck into a crowd of people in a bike lane near the West Side Highway. On December 11, an attempted suicide bomber detonated an explosive device at the Port Authority Bus Terminal.
