New Jersey Governor Elect Phil Murphy is blasting NJ Transit, saying the agency needs to be rebuilt from the ground up.
“We need a strong leader to take hold of the national disgrace that is NJ Transit, turning it upside down and shake it up so that we can make it right again,” Murphy said.
The governor elect complained that millions of dollars are being wasted on empty office space and undeserved worker pay hikes. He said enough is enough.
“No agency in our government is more in need of a wholesale makeover and re-envisioning than NJ Transit,” Murphy said.
The governor elect made the comments as he introduced Diane Gutierrez-Scaccetti as his Transportation Commissioner.
