A man has been shot in killed in the Bronx after approaching police officers with a machete.
Officers were executing a search warrant at an apartment building on Brook Avenue around 4:30 a.m. on Tuesday. On the third floor, police encountered the man with a machete in a back bedroom.
At approx. 4:30am today members of the Emergency Service Division were conducting a search warrant at 230 Brook Ave, Bronx. The individual refused orders to drop the machete and was shot in the chest. He was pronounced dead at the hospital. No officers were injured.
The machete was recovered and police said it has a two foot blade.
Another person was taken into custody in connection with the search.
