Senator Charles Schumer is warning people that their privacy could be put at risk when they use DNA test kits.
“DNA testing firms don’t clearly disclose to consumers exactly what they’re doing with the DNA once a person’s cheek swab is sent in to the company,” Schumer said.
He said some of the testing companies sell data to a third party without informing consumers. Schumer wants the Federal Trade Commission to investigate.
