NYPD Security Plan in Place for Parade

The New York City Police Department will be out in full force for the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on Thursday.

“There will be a very strong presence of the NYPD. Stronger than ever in fact,” Mayor Bill de Blasio said.

Sand trucks will be used the line the parade route.  There will also be heavy weapon teams deployed to the area.  The NYPD will also have security procedures in place that people won’t see.

“There are no credible and specific threats against these events. That being said, we will have a very forceful NYPD presence.  We will be prepared for any eventuality,” de Blasio said.

The mayor reminded everyone that if they see something suspicious, they need to report it.
