Police are searching for a driver involved in a deadly hit-and-run incident near Union Square.
Adrian Blanc, 34, was struck early Tuesday morning while crossing East 14th Street. He died from his injuries on Wednesday.
The NYPD is looking for the driver of an SUV which turned onto the street and struck Blanc. The vehicle then sped off.
The accident comes as the City Council is set to vote Wednesday on a “hit-and-alert system.” It would create a system similar to Amber Alerts, sending messages to phones when there’s an accident.
