Deliberations Continue at Menendez Trial

Jury deliberations continue on Wednesday at the corruption trial of Senator Bob Menendez.

For each of the past two days, jurors have told the judge they were deadlocked.  The judge ordered them to keep deliberating, even as defense attorneys pushed for a mistrial.

“I appreciate the jurors who have been standing up for my innocence during the course of the jury deliberations,” Menendez said.

Menendez is accused of doing political favors for a Florida eye doctor in exchange for lavish gifts and trips.  He has denied the allegations.

Last week, the judge excused one of the jurors so she could go on vacation.  That caused jurors to restart deliberations this week.
