Former Official: ISIS Using Internet to Radicalize

A former counterterrorism coordinator with the Department of Homeland Security says ISIS has been successful in reaching potential followers through social media.

John Cohen, an ABC News Consultant, told WOR's "Len Berman in the Morning" that social media has become a large part of the terror group’s outreach to those who may have mental health issues.

“It’s very difficult to manage that which exists in the social media or the Internet based world,” Cohen said.

Cohen said the U.S. can defeat ISIS on the battlefield, but it’s much harder to stop information from being spread online.
