Former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg is among the richest people in the world, according to a brand new list by Forbes.
Bloomberg has a net worth of $47.5 billion, which puts him at number 10 on the list. Another New Yorker, President Donald Trump, saw his net worth drop by $600 million. The president is worth $3.1 billion, with the biggest hit coming to his real estate portfolio.
“A tough New York real estate market, a costly lawsuit and an expensive presidential campaign all contributed to the declining fortune of the 45th president,” Forbes said
First on the list is Microsoft founder Bill Gates with a net worth of $89 billion, which increased $8 billion from 2016. He takes the top spot for the 24th consecutive year.
Berkshire Hathaway CEO Warren Buffett is second at $75.6 billion and Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos comes in at number three with a net worth of $72.8 billion. Amancio Ortega, the co-founder of Zara, and Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg round out the top five. (Thumbnail Credit: Getty Images)
