Sue McNaught, owner of Celtic Canine Motivational Dog Training Center in upstate NY, has some serious explaining to do to the SPCA of Niagara County.
Ms. McNaught was caught with 343 sick and injured animals stuffed into unsanitary cages in her home. The menagerie of animals ranged from snakes and lizards to squirrels, tortoises, and hedgehogs.
SPCA Officials say that some of the animals were starved to the point that they were beginning to cannibalize each other.
The years of built-up filth and stench of animal waste was so severe that Niagara County SPCA Executive Director Amy Lewis had the home condemned.
Ms. McNaught and her daughter Bethany both face dozens of animal cruelty charges.
Over 250 animals were rescued from the scene.
