Travis d'Arnaud was the star for the Mets tonight as his two home runs helped his team beat the Nationals Friday night at Citi Field.
d'Arnaud got the scoring started for New York in the second inning with a solo shot. However Adam Lind would hit a three run homer in the third to put Washington up. That would start a string of six runs in a row for the Nationals to make it 6-1.
The Mets would go on a comeback in the 5th capped by d'Arnaud who hit a three run home run to tie the game. In the 6th inning Nori Aoki used one of his three hits to bring home the eventual winning run making it 7-6.
AJ Ramos, Josh Smoker and Jeurys Familia combined for a scoreless ninth to seal the deal. For Familia it was his first save since returning from the disabled list.
