3 Dead, 16 Injured in After Bus Crash in Queens

Three people were killed and 16 were injured on Monday morning when two buses collided in Queens, New York.

Some of the injuries are said to be critical.

"We've had a really tragic morning here in Flushing, Queens," Mayor Bill de Blasio said.

An MTA bus was making a right turn on Northern Boulevard after 6 a.m. when it was struck by a private charter bus. The driver of the private bus was killed, along with a passenger on the MTA bus and a pedestrian on the street.

"We want to make sure that we understand exactly what happened and we prevent it from ever happening again," MTA Chairman Joe Lhota said.

An investigation is ongoing.
