A furniture delivery man is lucky to be alive after a crazed livery driver attacked him and bashed him in the head with a baseball bat.
79-year-old Lionel Johnson and the victim had double parked their furniture truck on East 48th Street near Avenue D while making a delivery.
Witnesses say a man driving a gray Honda Accord started beeping his horn and screaming at the furniture delivery men to move their truck even though there was more than enough room for him to drive by.
The unidentified man pulled past the furniture delivery truck, stopped his car, grabbed a baseball bat, and smacked delivery man Daron James across the head.
James was rushed to Brookdale hospital for emergency surgery.
The suspect in the gray Honda is still being sought by police.
