FDNY firefighters rescued a man Tuesday morning whose leg became trapped in a small sinkhole on Myrtle Avenue in Bedford-Stuyvesant.
FDNY tells DNAinfo that the first call for help came in at 11:13 a.m.
A witness said the street appeared to collapse under the man's foot leaving him trapped in the pavement in almost the middle of the street.
"It almost looked like he didn't have a leg," the witness told DNAinfo. "He seemed to be in a lot of pain."
Another witness heard the victim say his foot had gone numb.
Three firefighters were able to free the man from the ground. The victim's leg was intact, but his shoe was gone.
He was taken to Woodhull Hospital for treatment.
