Mets drop series finale to Marlins, 6-4

The Miami Marlins beat the New York Mets 6-4 in the series finale at Citi Field. The Marlins end up winning the series 2 to 1.

The game was fairly close until the 7th inning when it was 2-1. However some defensive miscues led to Giancarlo Stanton hitting a 3 run homer off Jacob DeGrom to tear the game open.

DeGrom was shaky for the Mets yet again allowing 5 earned runs over 6 and a third innings of work. His counterpart, Adam Conley, was terrific allowing just one run and striking out 11 over 7 innings of work.

The Mets fought back in the 8th inning scoring 3 runs to make it 6-4, but could not muster up any more in the 9th to tie or win the game. They have now dropped 8 of 9 Sunday home games this season.

The Mets start a 4 game series with the Arizona Diamondbacks tomorrow night at 7:10. Coverage on WOR begins at 6:05 with 'Mets On Deck.'
