Mets drop 5th consecutive game to Marlins, 3-1

In a game that started almost two hours late after a rain delay, the Miami Marlins defeated the New York Mets 3-1.

J. T. Realmuto hit a two run homer in the second inning and Marcel Ozuna drove in a run via the sac fly in the third, which is all the offense they would need. Chris Flexon surrendered all three runs for the Mets.

Justin Nicolino earned the victory for Miami, pitching five innings allowing just one run. The Mets scored their run in the third inning as Wilmer Flores singled to drive in Juan Lagares. Brad Ziegler earned his fifth save of the season as he pitched a one, two, three ninth inning.

The Mets will look to snap their five game losing streak Saturday evening in the middle game of the series against the Marlins at 7:10. Coverage on WOR begins at 6:05 with 'Mets On Deck.'
