Yankees Take Subway Series Opener 4-2

The Yankees took the opener of the 2017 Subway Series 4-2. The Mets led this game 2-0 after the third inning thanks to solo home runs from Curtis Granderson and Yoenis Cespedes. 

Rafael Montero got into trouble in the fourth, but only allowed a sac fly which cut the lead to 2-1. In the bottom of the fifth Yankees slugger, Aaron Judge ripped a solo homer to tie the game 2-2. 

In the bottom of the eighth Aaron Hicks and Gary Sanches both homered to give the Yankees a 4-2 lead allowing Dellin Betances to come on a get the save in the top of the ninth. 

Jacob deGrom takes on Sonny Gray will get the start on Tuesday night for their respective teams in the second game of the series. Coverage on WOR begins at 6:05 pm with Pete McCarthy & 'Mets on Deck'.
