An 11-year-old girl has been seriously burned after another girl poured boiling water on her in the Bronx.
There was a sleepover at an apartment in Concourse Village, when a 12-year-old girl allegedly doused the 11-year-old with boiling hot water. The victim is hospitalized in serious but stable condition at Harlem Hospital with second degree burns.
The 12-year-old was arrested and charged with felony assault.
The incident may be part of a game known as the “hot water challenge.” As part of the challenge, boiling water is dumped on unsuspecting people. Video of the incident is then posted online.
