Senior citizens of NYC are being issued wearable alarm bracelets in hopes the device will help cut down on attacks and assaults.
The Senior Safe initiative was started by the Community Affairs Bureau of NYC. Seniors who attend the events will receive the alarm and a special pen to write checks that can’t be counterfeited.
Police officers plan on visiting every senior center in the city to distribute the devices and instruct the elderly on how to stay safe in metropolitan areas.
