Two New York City lawmakers will be riding the subway this morning looking for feedback on problems in the system.
City Councilman Ydanis Rodriguez and Assemblyman Jeffrey Dinowtiz said they want to hear directly from riders about the challenges they face.
The two will ride subway lines in Manhattan and the Bronx for 12 hours on Thursday. On Friday, Rodriguez and Dinowtiz will spend another 12 hours in Queens and Brooklyn.
The subway system has been plagued with subway signal problems, delays, derailments and other issues in recent months. The MTA has put forward an $840 million plan to fix many of the problems. MTA Chairman wants New York City to pay half the cost, but Mayor Bill de Blasio has refused.
