New Jersey Senator Cory Booker is making a push to legalize marijuana across the country.
“Marijuana laws have devastated communities, have devastated cities, have devastated families and have devastated too many lives,” Booker said in a Facebook Live video.
He’s introducing legislation that would legalize marijuana and would have judges review the cases of those convicted of marijuana-related crimes.
“This is the right thing to do for public safety and will help reduce our overflowing prison population,” Booker said.
The plan has little chance of winning approval from the Republican controlled Congress.
