Mets Fall 5-4 in Amed Rosario's Debut

It was not the debut Amed Rosario had hoped for as the Mets fell 5-4 in Colorado tonight.

Rosario went 1/4 at the plate edging out an infield single in the top of the eighth. In the bottom of the ninth, Rosario whiffed on a grounder just to his right which setup the Rockies go-ahead run. Nolan Arenado would line one into center to drive in Charlie Blackmon and walk-off the Mets.

Steven Matz pitched well tonight only making one mistake, a 3-run home run to Arenado which gave the Rockies a 3-2 led. The Mets would battle back and take a 4-3 lead when Jay Bruce homered, but they would ultimately fall short tonight in the first of three.

Pete McCarthy and Sal Licata have the 'Sports Zone' at 6:05 pm on Wednesday.
