The Mets came up short this afternoon as their 3-game winning streak ended with a 3-2 loss to the Oakland A's this afternoon at Citi Field.
Rafael Montero pitched well, but the Mets offense could not do enough against Daniel Gosset and the A's bullpen. Montero went seven innings allowing three runs on seven hits, three of those hits were solo home runs. Michael Conforto hit a solo home run and Jose Reyes drove in a run on a fielder's choice, but ultimately the Mets offense fell short.
The Mets will be in San Diego on Monday for four games against Padres. Coverage on WOR begins at 6:05 pm with the WOR Sports Zone with Pete McCarthy and Sal Licata.
