Conforto's 2 Homers Power Mets Past A's 7-5

The Mets have won three in a row as they defeated the A's 7-5 tonight at Citi Field.

Michael Conforto belted two, two-run home runs and the bullpen picked up the pieces after a shaky start by Steven Matz. With the A's rallying in the top of the eighth inning, Jerry Blevins came on with one out and the bases loaded. He was able to escape and then pitch a 1-2-3 ninth inning to pick up a 5-out save.

Steven Matz lasted just five innings allowing three runs on nine hits while striking out five. The bullpen would be responsible for the last four and they managed to just allow two runs and hang on for a 7-5 win.

TJ Rivera drove in two runs on a single that led to an A's error that allowed him to score on what Howie Rose described as a little league home run.
