A war of words between two men quickly escalated into an assault after one of the men smashed a full bottle of beer across the face of the other man.
The incident took place at the Gourmet Deli Bodega in Pelham Bay. The suspect, a man described as a 50-year-old white man who stands 5 foot 7 and weighs 250 pounds walked out of the front door of the store during the argument, but then returns moments later and smashed the beer bottle across the victims face.
The victim was treated for minor injuries at Jacobi Medical Center and released.
