Police in New Jersey are looking for a killer after an 11-year-old girl was found dead in Keansburg.
The body of Abbiegail Smith was discovered on Thursday morning near an apartment complex on Hancock Street where she lived. Smith was reported missing on Wednesday night.
Authorities said that Smith was murdered, but didn’t say how she was killed. No suspects have been identified and there have been no arrests.
“The Keansburg Police Department is working closely with the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s office and are seeking any information about the case,” the Keansburg Police Department said in a statement on Facebook.
A memorial is now growing at the apartment complex. A candlelight vigil was held on Thursday night.
